A Dalit lady was allegedly raped at gunpoint by two males, together with a former village head, in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh, police stated on Sunday.

“The incident came about every week again, however the police have been knowledgeable in regards to the alleged gang rape on Sunday,” Superintendent of Police (Kanpur Dehat) Keshav Kumar Choudhary stated.

Three police groups headed by SHO Derapur, circle officer and extra SP aside from SWAT staff have been shaped to arrest the absconding accused, he added.

The incident comes shut on the heels of the gang rape-murder of one other Dalit lady in Hathras that had drawn intense outrage after alleged apathy of the administration.
