Taking strict motion towards defaulters for burning rubbish and contributing to air air pollution within the nationwide capital, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has challaned 1,761 polluters for Rs 38.43 lakh until Saturday inside this month.
As could as 1,702 challans for Rs 26.43 lakh have been issued for open burning of rubbish from October 1- October 17 and 59 challans have been issued for Rs 12 lakh for mud air pollution from October 1-16, based on North DMC official.
Apart from, over 86 challans of different businesses like DDA, PWD, I&FC and so on have additionally been issued for inflicting air pollution by dumping rubbish and different waste on their land falling below North DMC.
North DMC additionally requested different businesses: PWD, GNCTD; DSIIDC; DDA; I&FC; Indian Railways and so on to take care of unpaved areas of their jurisdiction falling below North DMC which causes air pollution. The entire unpaved space of their jurisdiction involves about 16,87,413 sq.mts.
